Guide Pilot (Currently being tested by the SAILs and some other clubs, but not yet the official requirements)
There are five components to the pilot Guide curriculum: Experience God, Experience Nature, Experience Health, Experience Community, Experience Leadership. Through these five areas, Pathfinders engage with their club, church, and community while enhancing their mental, spiritual, and physical skills and wellbeing.
Experience God
As a group and independently, study and explore the following three Fundamental Beliefs: 1. The Church 2. The Millennium and the End Of Sin 3. The New Earth
Experience Nature
Do requirement 1, and choose either Outdoor Skills OR Environmental Conservation 1. The Natural World: Now and Perfected
2. Outdoor Skills (Complete Requirements 8-12 of Wilderness Living and teach a portion of Red Alert II or Camp Safety). 8. Identify in the wild, prepare, and eat ten varieties of wild plants. 9. Have a personal survival kit of 15 items and know how to use each item. 10. Explain the necessity in wilderness living of adequate sleep, proper diet, personal hygiene, and proper exercise. 11. Have the First Aid honor. In addition to the First Aid honor, know the prevention, symptoms, and the first aid treatment for the following: a. Hypothermia. e. Poison ivy and poison oak b. Venomous snake bite. f. Open wound infection c. Heat and sunstroke. g. Altitude sickness d. Heat exhaustion. h. Dehydration 12. Demonstrate two ways to signal for help. Experience Health:
