It is time for a summer break, but we are already looking forward to next year, when we will prepare for the International Pathfinder Camporee in Wyoming!
The SAIL Pathfinders marked the end of the Pathfinder year with the Investiture Ceremony, marking their achievements throughout the year, and investing them in their next class rank. We were honored to have our Area Coordinator present for the ceremony, and to pin each of the Pathfinders for their new achievement class. Prior to the ceremony, the Pathfinders led a special church service, and received a message charging them to tell their story. To round out the weekend and Pathfinder Year, the SAILs hit the lake (well, river actually) for Kayaking, an activity several said was better than our long hikes... With the end of the school year comes the end of the Pathfinder year. The SAILs used our last two meetings to finalize work on some honors (Hymns, Digital Photography, and Water Science), and to have some team-building and friendly competition activities. In between, the SAILs helped pack more than 1000 bags of literature, toiletries, socks, and snacks for the Prison Ministries, which delivered the Bags of Hope to a local women's prison for Mothers Day. In our last meeting of the year, the SAILs competed in a marshmallow tower challenge, and demonstrated fire building forms with pretzels, a tasty way to test skills. The SAILs will hold their Investiture service this Sabbath, after serving many roles in the Church service, and will celebrate the end of the year with a final outing this weekend. We want to thank everyone for their support of the SAIL Pathfinder Club this year, and are looking forward to next year when we will attend the International Camporee in Wyoming! |
