In November, the SAIL Pathfinder Club helped put together Bags of Hope for those incarcerated. Pathfinders helped write uplifting messages and packed supplies and reading material as part of an Austin area Prison Ministry project. With the Holiday season nearing, the service project was a time to reflect on our own blessings, but also on how we may share those with everyone.
After working in the morning, the SAILs headed to the aquarium. We have been studying coral reefs, learning about these marine ecosystems, and about the animals that live in them. The aquarium visit offered an opportunity to see many of these reef creatures (and plenty of others) up close, something we don't often get a chance to do here in Central Texas.
As we come near the end of the year, we are looking forward to shifting our attention to community service and outdoor skills in the new year.
