![]() It is nearly the end of the year, but the SAIL Pathfinders are remaining active. We recently packed flood relief buckets for Adventist Community Services Disaster Response - buckets that will be stored and used in situations similar to the recent floods in Austin that some of the SAILs helped out after. In addition to flood buckets, the SAILs will be heading out to Bastrop again soon for a second year of volunteering to help re-plant the Lost Pines following the terrible fires a few years back. The SAILs' commitment to community service this year has provided the club members with numerous opportunities to help out. We still have a lot planned for the coming year - from an overnight to the shore to backpacking to preparing for the big Camporee in Oshkosh.

![]() Hello SAILs! Welcome to the FIFTH year of the South Austin Inner Lights Pathfinder Club. It doesn’t seem all that long ago when we were still in year ONE. We have met many new people (and sadly said good-bye to others) over the years, joined evangelism programs, responded to community crises, slept in a zoo, visited the beach, collected fossils on the backside of a dump, went camping, hiking and backpacking, “slept” through torrential rains and lightning, bridged a creek, baked a cake or two, eaten dozens of pizza tacos and developed life-long friendships. As we embark on the fifth year of the SAIL Club, it is a particularly exciting time to be in Pathfinders. The International Pathfinder Camporee will be next summer in Oshkosh, where we will have the opportunity to meet with some 36,000 other Pathfinders from around the world, and learn what Daniel has to teach us about remaining Forever Faithful. Remember, the first SAIL meeting is Wednesday, August 28, and Induction is Sabbath August 31. Take a look through the updated SAIL website, check the calendar for upcoming events, and get your uniform pressed and ready (no, don’t tell your Mom to do it; do it yourself!). Here’s looking forward to the best SAIL Pathfinder year yet! (Did I mention we are FINALLY doing archery this year?) SAIL Pathfinders, Forward... March! The SAIL Pathfinders carried out a can collection drive on Halloween to support the local food pantry. On sabbath, we handed out bags through the neighborhood, letting people know about the food pantry and the Pathfinder Club. On Wednesday night, we Picked up the donations, and one of the Church members hosted a small party for the Club. We would like to thank the generous neighbors who donated some 140 cans and jars, 30 boxes and bags of rice, beans, and pasta, plus a few dozen assorted food items, including baby food, and other items, including toiletries. These items have been donated to the food pantry, hosted by the Austin South Seventh-day Adventist Church in cooperation with the Capital Area Food Bank.
