September 19, 2015- A busy day for Pathfinders. We started with our induction service. After lunch the Pathfinders headed to Balcones Canyonlands for a hike. Then it was time for our new Pathfinder Overnight. We started the event studying about Trees. Much was learned about different kinds of trees and what they are used for. After worship, the Pathfinders earned their Pizza Making honor and made their own pizza for supper! It was great fun to see how each group worked together to make a pizza! Continuing to learn how to work together as a group, the new Pathfinders played a few team games and then learned to set up tents. In the morning, everyone took a turn making pancakes and helping to prepare breakfast. Gathering leaves toward the Tree honor, and practicing some football tossing completed the event.
The highlight for the staff was watching as our Pathfinders learned about prayer. Each worship we focused the kids on the theme the Pastor had spoken of during the Investiture service - to “Keep the Morning Watch”. On Sunday morning each Pathfinder found their own little spot and took their concerns to Jesus. As parents were picking children up, one Pathfinder and their mother had a very special moment when the Pathfinder confided that they had personally experienced Jesus and felt He listened. The mother was so excited because she had felt God answering prayers on her behalf at the time the prayers were going up!
