Next time you are at the church, check out the posters the Pathfinders made, highlighting the important points of the Pathfinder Song and Pledge. Ask them about bats, bat anatomy (what IS a calcar?), what they eat, how they hunt, where they live, and how many bugs they can eat in an hour. Or ask about the ... unique ... smell that accompanies the bats as they emerge in a million-plus swarm from the Congress Street Bridge.
The New Pathfinder and Junior Unit overnight helps to welcome the Pathfinders into the club, and gives everyone an opportunity to practice some of the skills we will be using through the year, from making breakfast and washing dishes, to setting and striking tents. From knot tying to drill. And we learned about heaven with an illustration that showed the extreme contrast between light and dark. We are looking forward to a great year with these youth!
