A special report from one of our Pathfinder:
Every summer our church, Austin South SDA, holds our annual Vacation Bible School (VBS). This year’s theme was “Thunder Island: Where Jesus is always with me”. Many members of the community came out to participate and learn about how “Jesus loves you, Jesus protects you, Jesus values you, and how Jesus forgives so relax!” We sang songs, did fun crafts, ate yummy snacks, played fun games, made many new friends, and got to play on a huge trampoline!
Even in the off season for the Pathfinder club, our Pathfinders are always up to lend a helping hand. While our younger Pathfinders participated in VBS, our older pathfinders dedicated themselves to making sure Thunder Island could come to life. Making the set, helping in tech, chasing kids, going door to door, being team leaders - whatever it was our Pathfinders were there to help and they did it with a smile on their face!
Though it wasn’t an easy task, this opportunity taught all of our Pathfinders about being leaders and examples to younger kids, As well as team work and everyone being on the same page. A big thank you goes out to all the volunteers who dedicated time, money and resources for VBS ‘24 and a thank you to all the Thunder Islanders who came to participate. See you next summer!
And for the SAILs, next stop …. Gillette, Wyoming !!
