It was a dark and stormy night... But the SAIL Pathfinders were not discouraged, as they headed out Oct. 30 to collect non-perishable food items for the Austin South Food Pantry, which works with the Capital Area Food Bank. The Pathfinders collected more than 160 items from the neighborhood, and we heartily thank all those who donated. This is the second year of the food drive, and we are already planning for a bigger drive next year. Our service project for November will be building out emergency response kits for use after natural disasters, and in December we will be back in Bastrop to help the continuing efforts to replant the Lost Pine forest after the wildfires.
